In a rush between meetings and not enough time to make a coffee, I filled up the pour over kettle and prepped everything and brought it to my desk. Excused myself for having to put myself on mute while a make a coffee in front of everyone, please continue, I’m listening… begin pouring, and 30secs later my lap is very hot.
i was trying to make coffy and instead of pouring the hot water from the kettle into the french press, for some reason i just started pouring it directly down the drain instead??? https://twitter.com/mycoliza/status/1502012656739356672 The struggle is real.

One from the vaults. It’s 3:30pm in the office. You’re hitting a wall and as you look up, you see your team are all in the same place. You peer past their haggard expressions to see a word engraved deep within their eyes.

Just imagine – an early morning before a video-call with the USA. I’ve dragged myself from bed and started making a coffee. I’ve diligently weighed the beans, rinsed the filter with hot water into my mug. I attend to my toast – aiming for perfect synchronisation of coffee brewing and toaster popping – then I return to put the beans in filter.
Bitten by Banham’s Law again today, this time as applied to single boiler espresso machines. Managed to leave the boiler in steam mode all morning, resulting in me hurriedly pulling a shot at “get rekt” temperatures. I realised what was happening about half way through and figured things would be fine.
